I've concocted this capture of a beautiful moment offered by the BBC to its viewers:

• an animated sequence on the Games, based on Edith Piaf's "Hymne à l'Amour".

• followed by a ‘surprise’: the introduction to the opening ceremony by... Tom Hiddleston (himself! and with his charming English accent in the language of Molière...)
